Our services
At present the practice is working with an NHS contract and is happy to see our existing NHS patients, but due to clinical capacity we are only able to take on children as new NHS patients. This is, however subject to change. We are happy to see adults privately and a full comprehensive service is available for these patients. A list of charges is available at reception and here. Adults can choose to pay for their private care by Practice Plan which is a monthly direct debit scheme which provides 2 examinations, radiographs and 2 scale and polishes per year, plus 20% discount off any additional private treatment required.
You can download a leaflet here in pdf format (you will need acrobat reader) or get a copy from the practice.
We will always endeavour to explain all your private treatment and a written estimate will be available if requested.
Our practice is committed to quality, we are members of the prestigious British Dental Association Good Practice Scheme and have comprehensive quality assurance systems which are regularly updated and maintained.

Complaints
If however, you feel that the standard of care you receive is not to your satisfaction please either speak to, telephone or if you prefer, write, to our Practice Manager, Judith Taylor.

Disabled Patients
At Sharrow Vale Dental Care we are committed to providing care for everyone and therefore we have wheelchair access through our front door and in our downstairs surgery.
We also have a hearing loop for the deaf and have facilities to help the partially sighted.
Elderly Patients and Patients with Special Needs
Sharrow Vale Dental Care is actively involved in the ROCS (Residential Oral Care Sheffield) scheme which delivers NHS dental care to residents in nursing and residential homes.
The photo shows Gill Heyes and Christine Allsop visiting a 97 year old lady in a local residential home.

It is a little known fact that over 60% of people over the age of 80 have some of their own teeth.
With this in mind we have introduced a new specialist dentist, Gill Heyes, to the practice
A wide range of fillings are available to restore your teeth to former glory. These are not available on the NHS and cost approx £70 - £100.
We are also able to provide a ‘whiter brighter’ smile with bleaching techniques.
Porcelain veneers can greatly enhance the appearance of your smile, with minimal loss to tooth substance. Tooth staining and some irregularities can benefit from this form of treatment. This again is cosmetic treatment that is available privately.
A full range of NHS and Private crowns is available, although it should be pointed out that due to NHS restrictions white porcelain crowns on molar (back) teeth and can only be provided privately. Bridges are usually only provided on a private basis as well.
Children’s Prevention and Advice
Children of all ages are welcome to our practice. The team endeavour to give help and advice to parents on issues such as diet, tooth brushing and products.

When all else fails! We are here to return your smile with either NHS or a full range of private dentures, which you will find aesthetically pleasing, and of a high technical standard.
